Included are deeds of John Norton and Thomas Andrews and other family members to lands in Hingham, Mass. and other locations; Norton family correspondence, in particular among Rev. Jacob Norton and his daughters Elizabeth C., Mary C. (later Mrs. Jacob Howe), and Lucy A. Norton (later Eames), and courtship letters between Jacob Howe and his future wife; papers, some related to his service in the Revolutionary War, of Joseph Andrews; and letters to Loring Andrews, printer of Stockbridge, Mass., including several from Theodore Sedgwick regarding contemporary politics. Also, letters to London merchant Samuel Eliot related to his business interests; and letters from Alexis de Tocqueville (in French) to Theodore Sedgwick and others.
